David’s FULL REVIEW

6/10

RT SYNOPSIS: Two siblings who run a California horse ranch discover something wonderful and sinister in the skies above, while the owner of an adjacent theme park tries to profit from the mysterious, otherworldly phenomenon.

RATED: R | Some Violence, Bloody Images, Language Throughout

AGENDAS/PROPAGANDA: Minor LGBTQ representation. One of the main characters talks about f***ing her therapist which she subtly reveals is a woman. Same character is also seen making flirtatious remarks to another female extra while in a store. Both instances are very brief. NOTE: Previews were filled with agendas! Beware!

NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: No nudity. Minor sexual talk in one scene.

DAVID’S REVIEW: NOPE had so much potential, only to be crushed by its puzzling/lazy second act. The acting was good - this was the movie’s strength along with the cinematography. The tense moments weren’t as frightening as they could have been. NOPE was fun and it kept me interested for the most part. However, an hour and a half into the movie, I became frustrated. Loose ends continued to go untied as the movie dragged along. The ending didn’t help. I still have so many unanswered questions.

If you’re a fan of Jordan Peele’s movies, you might like it otherwise save your money at the theaters.
