David’s FULL REVIEW

5.5/10

RT SYNOPSIS: "Thor: Love and Thunder" finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced -- a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who -- to Thor's surprise -- inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late.

RATED: PG-13 | Intense Sci-Fi Violence, Action, Language, Partial Nudity, Some Suggestive Material

AGENDAS/PROPAGANDA: Plenty of LGBTQ references. In one scene, Thor’s rock friend Korg (voiced by extreme leftist and director of the movie Taika Waititi) talks about his “two dads” and is later shown with his male partner - confirming that Korg is gay.

The new King of Asgard, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), has a brief intimate moment with a female servant of Zeus. Valkyrie kisses the servant’s hand and gives her a seductive look as the servant swoons. Later in the movie, Korg asks Valkyrie if she’s sad about “her girlfriend” confirming Valkyrie is lesbian.

For the parents of younger kids, there’s plenty of cursing in this movie. “Shit” is said at least half a dozen times.

NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: Many sexual innuendos. One of the god characters tells Thor he’s not invited to the “orgy.” A scene shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) naked from behind with his bare bottom showing.

DAVID’S REVIEW: Agendas and sexual content aside, this was my least favorite Thor movie. The 5.5 rating has nothing to do with the agendas or sexual content, FYI. There were so many things wrong with Thor: Love and Thunder.

The screenplay was weak and a mess. The movie couldn’t decide what it wanted its plot to be. Either way, all of the plots involved were weak. The lack of chemistry between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) was a big problem for me. There was no depth to their interactions (if that makes sense). How does this happen after over a decade of movies building them up?

The villain, Gorr, was played by one of the best actors to ever live (Christian Bale) and I felt no emotion watching him. Bale’s character was hollow with seemingly no reason behind his purpose. The ending made no sense (you’ll see why).

Love and Thunder doubled down on the humor that made its predecessor, Thor: Ragnarok, so successful. However, it didn’t work this time around. Director, writer and radical leftist Taika Waititi tried too hard to be funny and it made the serious parts feel less serious.

Thor: Love and Thunder was a let down. I left the theater disappointed. Save your money on this one.
