4/10

RT SYNOPSIS: This summer, experience the epic conclusion to the Jurassic era as two generations unite for the first time. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are joined by Oscar®-winner Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill in Jurassic World Dominion, a bold, timely and breathtaking new adventure that spans the globe. From Jurassic World architect and director Colin Trevorrow, Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed. Dinosaurs now live--and hunt--alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.

RATED: PG-13 | Language, Intense Sequences of Action, Some Violence

AGENDAS/PROPAGANDA: None.

NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: None.

DAVID’S REVIEW: Anti-climatic, messy, lazy and clunky; Jurassic World Dominion was, by far, the worst film in the Jurassic Park saga. It was clearly a cash grab. The movie centered around multiple plots and multiple characters none of which I cared about. Dinosaurs were an afterthought. How could a movie about dinosaurs NOT have dinosaurs at the center of its plot?!

Director Colin Trevorrow, who should never touch a popular franchise like this again, relied on nostalgia so much that he neglected the script and other major details such as the screenplay. The acting was terrible. Scenes that were supposed to be humorous fell completely flat. The movie was soul-less. I felt almost no emotion throughout. Instead, Trevorrow attempted to distract the movie’s faults with nostalgia and large dino-fights very similar to the ones we’ve seen in the previous two films.

My biggest issue with Dominion was the presentation of the original cast Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum). I didn’t feel connected to any of these original characters that we fell in love with from the original - they were hollow. Dialogue was forced and cringe at times. I know for a fact Neill, Dern and Goldblum are good actors because I’ve seen them in other films. Leading me to believe so the poor acting and dialogue was on Trevorrow and crew.

Jurassic World Dominion made Jurassic Park 3 look like an Oscar film. If you need to get out, go see it. Otherwise, don’t waste your time or money.
