RT SYNOPSIS: In Marvel Studios' "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever," Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M'Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba) fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T'Challa's death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.
RATED: PG-13 | Some Language, Sequences of Strong Violence, Action
AGENDAS/PROPAGANDA: Social justice lines putting down the “white man.” One scene shows two female characters showing affection - hinting they’re together. Another scene shows white men enslaving Mexican people; this was historical inaccurate given time period and location.
NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: None.
DAVID’S AGE RESTRICTION: 15+ given propaganda
DAVID’S REVIEW: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was a feminist woke mess. The movie was 2hrs and 40min - an hour too long. The female characters, Ironheart and the original Black Panther’s replacement, just didn’t work. The plot was interesting, but not interesting enough to drag on for almost three hours. The acting was okay; in fact, it was the movie’s few strengths. Other strengths included special and visual effects. This isn’t one to remember. I’ve already forgotten about it. Seemed like Marvel saw an opportunity to insert as many social justice stories and characters as possible. Don’t waste your money at the theaters.
There’s one mid-post credit scene.
