DAVID’S REVIEW: Another DC superhero film that was all brass and no brains. Black Adam was so chaotic you might forget why some of the action scenes were happening in the first place. The pacing of the movie was clunky. When the serious/funny parts happened, I didn’t have time to process them - they fell flat anyways.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was so one-dimensional I’m surprised he agreed to the script. Character development and casting were Black Adam’s biggest weaknesses. The Justice Society were all miscasts. I didn’t care about them very much and felt no chemistry between them. This is unacceptable for such an iconic group of superheroes.

If there’s one thing DC Films can learn from Marvel Studios, when it comes to bringing superhero movies to the big screen, it’s that character development, storyline, and pacing all matter. The days of solely relying on action sequences (I’m looking at you Zack Snyder) is over.

Black Adam was lazy. DC Films went backwards on this one. Be sure to stay after for one post-credit scene that was probably the best part of the movie.
