David’s full REVIEW

6/10

RT SYNOPSIS: One of the most compelling and conflicted characters in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil -- or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

RATED: PG-13 | Some Frightening Images, Intense Sequences of Violence, Brief Strong Language

AGENDAS: No woke agendas. The scenes where Dr. Morbius turns into a vampire could be disturbing to kids under 12. The movie was not as demonic as its trailer made it seem. I didn’t feel like my soul was damaged leaving the theater, which was nice.

NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: No nudity or sexual content!

DAVID’S REVIEW: Ignore the poor critic ratings (18%) on Rotten Tomatoes. Morbius wasn’t THAT bad. Although the film had its flaws, it was mostly enjoyable. You can tell this was a “Sony Marvel film” due to familiar weaknesses we’ve observed in previous Sony Marvel films (plot, execution, flow).

The first half of Morbius had so much potential. The casting, visual effects and acting were great (especially Jared Leto’s performance). However, the film couldn’t quite nail its second half with a less-than-average final act, lazy writing and numerous plot holes. Despite its flaws, it’s worth watching. The soundtrack was great!

Stay after the initial credits for two bonus scenes.
