RT SYNOPSIS: In Marvel Studios' "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
RATED: PG-13 | Frightening Images, Action, Intense Sequences of Violence, Some Language
AGENDAS: Heavy LGBTQ propaganda in the film. One of the main character’s two moms are seen showing affection in a 30 second scene. That same main character, America Chavez, wore an LGBTQ button on her shirt throughout the entire duration of the movie.
In one of the multi-verses, a council of superheroes is called the “Illuminati” - not kidding. The same council of popular Marvel characters (won’t spoil it) were completely different genders and ethnicities which is fine if it works with the movie, but it didn’t.
NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: None.
DAVID’S REVIEW: Agendas and propaganda aside, the two hour woke-fest, that is Dr. Strange 2, was one of Marvel’s worst films to date. This felt like a made-for-TV movie. Scenes that were meant to be funny came off as cringe and/or empty due to the poor/lazy writing.
The overall feel of the movie was awkward and the plot was SUPER thin. It was chaotic, but not in a good way. It seemed like they tried to compensate with how bad the plot was with extra effects and superhero battles - but it just didn’t work. It felt like watching cut scenes from a video game with zero substance.
The plot revolved around a character, America Chavez, who I found myself not caring about due to lack of character development. I kept asking myself “who is this girl and why should I care?” Those two questions were never answered and that’s a problem.
Dr. Strange 2 added nothing of value to the Marvel Universe saga. The humor fell flat, the writing/plot were lazy and not even the amazing character cameos could save it. Save your money. Your wallet will thank me later.
