Black Widow (2021)

6.5/10
SYNOPSIS: Black Widow, or Natasha Romanoff, returns to the big screen as Scarlett Johansson reprises her role in this action packed prequel. Black Widow takes place before Romanoff joined the Avengers. Romanoff is confronted by her rough past including trying to make sense of a shaky family upbringing. When an evil villain, who neurologically controls a mass network of female spies, tries to destroy everything she loves, Natasha is tasked with her biggest mission yet alongside her long lost sister Yelena (Florence Pugh).
RATED: PG-13 | Some Language, Intense Violence, Action, Thematic Material)
AGENDAS: Not much except the usual making men look weaker and less significant than women. It wasn’t enough to be distracting, but if you’re looking for it you’ll notice.
NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: Other than some minor language, nothing to report!
OFA REVIEW: Ignore Rotten Tomatoes. Black Widow wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great as its RT scores says it was. The action scenes were superb, as expected with the budget of Marvel Studios, but the film’s plot was average at best. I felt myself becoming disinterested throughout the film with lackluster anti-climatic scenes. The humor worked in some areas, but felt forced in most. Overall, I’d wait for this one to hit the Redbox unless you’re a die hard Marvel fan or in need of a date night.
