David’s FULL REVIEW

4.5/10

RT SYNOPSIS: In the fifth Evil Dead film, a road-weary Beth pays an overdue visit to her older sister Ellie, who is raising three kids on her own in a cramped L.A apartment. The sisters' reunion is cut short by the discovery of a mysterious book deep in the bowels of Ellie's building, giving rise to flesh-possessing demons, and thrusting Beth into a primal battle for survival as she is faced with the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.

RATED: R | Strong Bloody Horror Violence, Some Language, Gore

AGENDAS/PROPAGANDA: One of the main, teen characters is transgender. Extremely demonic (you’ll feel it in the theater) and gory. Religious profanity used throughout.

NUDITY/SEXUAL CONTENT: No nudity.

DAVID’S AGE RESTRICTION: 17+

DAVID’S REVIEW: I’d like to begin by saying, this is about as far from a family film as it gets. I wouldn’t even take your high schooler. People of faith should definitely not see this one.

As a fan of cinema, gore/horror isn’t my favorite genre. However, if a horror movie at least has an interesting storyline with good acting, I don’t mind. This wasn’t the case in Evil Dead Rise. Keep this one on the shelf and never speak of it again…unless, it’s your thing. In which case, get help. 😜
